The guest toilet...

So we have been waiting for what feels like ages for our guest toilet to get done and now it looks like the day has finally come! I am so happy with ther result. It's bright and airy and the tiles that we had done with this kids look grreat and will be a great way to remember how small they once were :-)

The tiles that we choose are Moroccan ones from Marrakech Design and I just love them! Fun but not circus fun which I tend to go for. These are a little more suttle.

Autumn brings lovely warm and rich colors...

...and yesterday I was tempted to do a flower arrangement after laying my hands on these gorgeous Dahlias at the flower market in Denmark. Now I love working with oasis, so this is a typical Charlotte center piece if I get to choose one. It is a color explosion, just the way I like it!

Tiles for the guest toilet...

We are mixing in hand made tiles in the guest bathroom. We did some prints of the kids feet and hands and thought it would be nice to place them in the floor that we are doing in the toilet as a memory.

The finished result. To see what they look like in Place you have to wait.:-)

The painted door...

So I asked the painter to paint one of the doors in the kitchen in a grey and pink color. I wanted to do something crazy in all the Whites (the kitching is White, the walls are White, the floor is an oak floor that is pigmented White), so time for a dose of color. This is the result:

oh yes, and I have choosen this Marroccan tile for the staircase.

New bedside tables for the kids' rooms

So I have these bedside tables that I inherited from my mother that I have been keeping in the closet, not knowing where to place, and then I decided that what if I slap on some new paint and do some nice sponging.....and voilá - new bedside tables for the kids rooms!

A scotch sprite works well as a sponge :-)
Ta da!

Made some posters for the childrens room

So, I thought it would be a great idea to make a poster that showed the childrens names, dates, time, weight etc in a decorative fashion. Will frame them and hang them on the wall in their respective rooms....ones they have one ;-)

Made a lamp...

...to hang over our dinner table. I got some help from my wonderful dad with all the more technical stuff and whatever handy work that needed two hands ;-) I'm super delighted over the finished result! It has a much more modern look then our old one. My husband wasn't too delighted but as I am that much more invested in the interior decoration of our home (as he pointed out himself ;-) he said he could live with it....how very kind of him ;-)

A collage

So I made this attempt of two collages in celebration of our 5th anniersary and the fact that we also have been together for 10 years (where did the time go?). I'm actually pretty happy with how they turned out and the printers did a fine job. The collages are ment to be hung next to eachother as I used loads and loads of photos to spell out the word LOVE...it's cute! Also included a few words in each frame....the last one inclueds a poem by E.E. Cummings:

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart
(I carry it in my heart)

Bought a new mirror for our hallway/entrance

So I've been wanting for a big impressive mirror for the house for a long time but I haven't stumbled across one that I fancied - or one that had a price that fitted my wallet ;-) - until the other day that is! So here it is! I haven't decided if I will keep it as is...leaning against the wall or if we are to hang it properly. Either way I'm very happy with it....it looks great in our hallway and now I can make sure I don't look too awful before stepping outside and greating the world ;-)

My latest DIY project finished...

...and hung in our entrance above our newly purchased shoe cabinet from IKEA (had an assembly manual on 25 pages!!). I'm so happy with the clean and uncluttered look of our hallway. All it took was a little creative work like punching out approx. 100 paper circles, scrunching them up and gluing them on a a piece a paper, and 2 hours of assembling one single IKEA piece ;-) Oh, and the frames were also purchased at IKEA....

Happy crafting out there!

Love

C.

A decoupage stool, perhaps?

So feeling creative yesterday I decided to make my daughters rather boring stool a little more attractive. It's amazing what transforming power a little glue and a few pieces a paper can have!

Made a blanket...

...this afternoon and I'm stoked about how it turned out. Now the fabric is really what makes the blanket and I am as always totally in love with the fabric! My daughter seems to be a fan as well ;-) Take a look isn't it just fab!

The fabric is to die for...
...right?
My PilLove tags has found it's rightful place ;-)
Patchwork love...

New duvet cover and pillow

So I have fallen completely in LOVE with this new batik fabric and I decided that it would be absolutely beautiful as a duvet and pillow cover for a baby/toddler. Is it just me or is the bedding available in stores made in fabrics with the most awful or predictable pattern...like Mumin trollen or Tummelisa (aka Moomin or Thumbelina). One can actually make a set that will be appreciated by the child as well as the adults...just look at this!
